Most of my professional career has been dedicated to research. My graduate work at Oregon State University focused on students' understanding of quantum mechanics and my postdoc at the Rochester Institute of Technology focused on faculty professional development. I've done research on student content understanding and individuals' experiences in learning environments.
I love the research process and bringing projects to a state of completion. I also value strong collaboration, which is key to a successful research project. If you have a project you're working on and want to hire me to help, please contact me!
I am most familiar with research in undergraduate quantum mechanics education, computation & computational thinking, and faculty professional development (see my Research Overview). I will leverage what I know to learn new things for whatever research topic you are interested in bringing me into!
I'm happy to work on research projects at any part of their life cycle, whether it is just getting started or needs a final push to the end. Research design, literature review, data collection, data analysis, and manuscript writing are all processes I can assist on.
My work tends to be qualitative in nature. For data analysis, I have focused on reflexive thematic analysis and case study. I'm familiar with phenomenography and a variety of learning theories. I'm most experienced doing semi-structured interviews and focus groups.
